New 5k running and injury prevention programme

Moate 5k running and injury prevention programme:
Following on from the success of last years Couch to 5k programme in Moate Amenity Park, I am pleased to say that it will be happening again this year. I have been asked to coordinate it and am going to run a structured 5k running plan with an added emphasis on injury prevention. This will incorporate some running technique along with strengthening and stretching exercises for runners.
All levels of fitness are catered for and a 5k fun run organized by St Brigids Primary School in Moate will be held at the end of June to test yourself and finish off the programme in style.
Training will begin on Wednesday 6th May at 8pm in the park and will continue on Mondays and Wednesdays at 8pm for the next 5 weeks.
There will be a 10 euro charge for the 5 weeks and all profits go to the Amenity Park.
